Let’s get money!
This weekend was a real eye opening experience for me. As I’m sure it was for most of the people at PotLuckCon. Its only Saturday (one more day of the conference), yet I feel really compelled to share some of my thoughts, feelings, and pictures with those were and weren’t there.
For now, I’m just going to say this. A word of wisdom: If you care deeply about something and wish to be successful with it, you must do all you can to be as educated as you can.
That to me is what PotLuckCon was all about. Gaining knowledge. I can’t begin to tell you the amount of talent that was in some of those panels and workshops this weekend.
Special thanks to Craig Schumacker for putting on the conference.
Also thanks to Reid Wick for helping to put on the Urban Edge panel- which was amazing.
East Coast Mixtape God Papoose Versus Rockwell beats. One of the two Rockwell beats that will be released in May by Hiphopdx.com for their Remix Mixtape. It will be available online for free download and I will have limited edition CDs for the Low!!
Thanks to Johnny over at MusictoMarketing.com (M2M for short) has written a really positive Preview of TRIFECTA presents Paasky & Sanchez: The SIKKIS.
Shout out to Coco and Freret! M2M previews Trifecta
Trifecta was the first hip hop group that I interviewed here at M2M. The Trifecta mix tape is finally here. I was able to listen to it thanks to my roommate AKA Rockwell, who left a copy sitting in the common room. To be honest, I had very high expectations because I know how hard Rockwell has been working on this project and I have to say that I was blown away on all levels: beats, lyrics, production, etc. With their second project already underway, I see nothing but big things happening for this trio.
The group recently had a guest appearance on Crescent City Radios’ The Hip Hop Hour. Trifecta played some tracks for listeners and talked about The Sikkis and their upcoming project which is expected to be released in August 2008. It is my understanding that The Sikkis will be released on both TuneCore and iTunes soon. I have been listening to The Sikkis for two days straight and there are some great tracks, my personal favorite is track 13 (don’t have the tracks names!). The one track title I do know, “NO To The Bay”, features Loyola rapper G-Eazy. For more information check out Trifecta MySpace and Rockwell Beats.

If you are into hip hop whether its Southern, West Coast, East Coast, You NEED TO HEAR THIS!
This is the mixtape of Mannie Fresh’s new artist The Show! Features exclusvie music from Mannie Fresh and New Orleans own, The Show. Needless to say this guy is a beast, I’ve had the unique oppurtunity of working with Show in the studio and he has an incredible amount of potential and with the team around him, he will BLOW UP. I guarantee it. Production from Mannie Fresh, Bass Heavy, Ceaux Young, Flight School and more. The first half is fire! The second half is good but its just soo damn long (thats not a bad thing!).
Download this now and judge for yourself but you will be hearing more about this.
Word is Mannie is working on a new compilation that will be bigger and better than his last CD (Mind Of…). He is Def Jam South after all…
Cop that shit.
I feel very honored to announce that Musictomarketing.com has released a video interview of Trifecta which is the hiphop group that I am a member of along with god MCs Paasky and Sanchez. Musictomarketing.com is a well written and thoughtful blog, I cannot say enough about it. Its an inspiration to be recognized for what I am passionate about.
I am told that many more interviews are scheduled with indie musicians and music industry insiders. I cannot wait for the next installment!
So with that said I would like to announce that the first Trifecta project is in its finishing stages. Paasky & Sanchez: The Sikkis is near!!! I meant it when I said in the interview that this is an introduction of a new style of hiphop for New Orleans and the World. Paasky and Sanchez are lyrical monsters and just down to earth guys whose knowledge of the ins and outs of the industry always amaze me. The three of us cannot fail. Straight up.
Props to Alex “the Camera Guy” Wiltz for the amazing editing and filming. This is another man I feel has only success in his future. He will be shooting some Trifecta music videos too.
T.I. will serve as the executive producer on a reality show based on the life of hip-hop producer Mars.
The show – called “Life On Mars” – will follow the 22-year-old hit maker as he handles everyday life while trying to juggle writing hits for various big name artists and his band 1500 Or Nothing.
The show is currently being shopped to various major TV networks.
I look forward to seeing this on TV soon and just pray that none of the content gets watered down…
